More than a Dream

The old “AudreyWilsen” website disappeared when the band went from “I” to “we” and changed domains, and so symbolically we start over, with a brand new website and blog to go with the new name. Fresh start and all that. So welcome to the wagon – I hope you’re coming along for the ride. ;-P

Not a lot has been going on this summer. We have done a couple of great acoustic gigs in Norway, sold a few EPs to some very lovely people and even had the EP played on Norwegian radio, and right now we are happy to be back in Liverpool to focus and look ahead. Our last year at LIPA is approaching through the woods with gigantic, noisy troll steps, and come September we will have our hands full getting a live band together and planning the year in a little more detail than the somewhat vague To-Do-List we’ve got going on at the minute…;

  • Get a band together
  • Write new songs
  • Gig a lot

Since Ever Anew has only been “a thing” for the last six months or so, and since this is a brand new blog, why don’t I give you the whole story. The short version of course. The synopsis, if you will. See, Ever Anew is just one chapter in a long story about a girl who just wouldn’t shut up. A story about passion, dreams, love and friendship and, most importantly, about finding yourself, again and again, and realising that you will always be one step ahead of yourself, always looking, ever changing; Ever Anew. To me, it means that no matter how much you change, you always keep a part of “before” with you, and braid it into the new. Many parts, actually. And you need people close to you to remind you who you were, and accept who you’re becomingEver Anew is my story.

There, I went all deep on you. Wasn’t gonna. But you know. What’s a little honesty between friends?

So. What has Ever Anew managed to pull off so far then?

Well, after a whole lot of highs, lows and hard work, there was obviously the EP release – Big success. Not in the commercial sense really, we didn’t in any way sell out all the EPs or draw a massive audience or anything – but that wasn’t the goal either. It was a truly magical night with friends and family in the audience, on stage, and behind the scenes to share and celebrate our Big Day. Which is exactly what we wanted it to be. It really was the day that Ever Anew officially became something more than a dream.

After the launch of the EP, Dan and I did a couple of acoustic gigs in Norway. I love coming back to the warmth and support of my home town and hearing my songs on the radio (whoopee!), and I am so glad they keep inviting me back to play and share. Best audience ever! This time around we met some cool people, saw some amazing bands, and me personally, I learned that I have a second cousin who sounds EXACTLY like Neil Young. Fancy that.

That pretty much sums up Ever Anew so far; we can’t wait to get started again and to start gigging properly, with a full band and a box of EPs by our side!

See you there?

Get one! ;-P
